Reichert passed away on Thursday night in her Yellow Springs, Ohio, home while surrounded by her family, according to her frequent co-worker in the film industry Steven Bognar.

She underwent chemotherapy before winning the Oscar, but she nevertheless went to the ceremony and came on stage alongside Bognar to claim their prize. Later, the duo received an Emmy for American Factory.
